Minneapolis Fed Announces Official Staff PromotionsMINNEAPOLISThe Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis promoted the following to new positions effective June 1, 2000. Niel D. Willardson was named senior vice president responsible for banking supervision and risk management. Since 1990, he has worked in banking supervision, human resources and the law department. He is currently vice president in charge of banking supervision. He has a bachelor's degree from South Dakota State University and a juris doctor from the University of Minnesota. Creighton R. Fricek was named senior vice president responsible for human resources and information technology. He has been with the bank since 1993 and has worked in human resources and financial and corporate services. Prior to joining the Minneapolis Fed, Fricek spent 16 years at the Cleveland Fed in a variety of areas including accounting, information technology, human resources, payment system services and payment system risk. He is currently the vice president of human resources and corporate services, and serves as corporate secretary. He has a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and a master's in business administration from Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, Ohio. Kinney G. Misterek was named vice president responsible for banking supervision. He has been with the bank since 1980 and is currently the assistant vice president in banking supervision responsible for superregional supervision, automation, training and administration. Misterek has a master's degree in business taxation from University of Minnesota, and a master's and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of South Dakota. He is a certified public accountant, a certified bank auditor, a chartered financial analyst and a certified management accountant. Michael Garrett was named vice president responsible for human resources. He has been with the bank since 1988 and has worked in human resources, Fed ACH, the electronic payments office and check. He is currently an assistant vice president in human resources. Garrett has a bachelor's and a master's degree in business from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pa. Kelly A. Bernard was named assistant vice president in the check standardization office. She joined the bank in 1986 and has worked in the check standardization office, corporate services, Fed ACH, the electronic payments office, savings bonds and securities. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. David G. Fettig was named assistant vice president in the public affairs department. He has been with the bank since 1988, most recently as senior editor in public affairs. He has a bachelor's degree from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Mo. As one of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis contributes to a variety of Federal Reserve System functions, including operation of a nationwide payments system, distribution of the nation’s currency and coin, supervision and regulation of member banks and bank holding companies, and serving as a fiscal agent for the U.S. Treasury. Additionally, the president of the Minneapolis Fed serves as a member of the Federal Open Market Committee, the monetary policymaking arm of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors. Together with its branch in Helena, Mont., the Minneapolis Fed serves the Ninth Federal Reserve District, which includes Minnesota, Montana, North and South Dakota, 26 counties in northwestern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. -30- |
