The Independent Foreclosure Review Payment Agreement
March 13
2:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m. Central
In January 2013, 13 of the mortgage servicers subject to the Independent Foreclosure Review reached an agreement with federal regulators to pay more than $9.3 billion in cash payments and other assistance to help borrowers.
As a result of this agreement, the participating servicers have ceased the Independent Foreclosure Review, which involved case-by-case reviews, and replaced it with a broader framework allowing eligible borrowers to receive compensation more quickly.
Suzanne Killian of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and Barry Wides of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will provide additional details on the payment agreement.

Yazmin Osaki and Susan Burhouse of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will present on the primary findings of the 2011 FDIC National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households released in September 2012. The FDIC sponsors this survey every two years to collect data on the number of U.S. households that are unbanked and underbanked (including the reasons why) and their demographic characteristics. The survey was last conducted in June 2011 by the U.S. Census Bureau as a special supplement to the Current Population Survey (CPS). Teamed with the rich demographic and geographic data available through the CPS, the survey continues to present a wealth of previously unavailable data on unbanked and underbanked households that are available at the national, state, and large metropolitan statistical area (MSA) levels.
