Zvi Eckstein has been a research consultant to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis since 2001 and is currently professor of economics at the University of Minnesota and the Eitan Berglas School of Business at Tel Aviv University. He has also taught at Yale University, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Boston University.
Zvi has published research in Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, and International Economic Review, among other well-known journals. He received his B.A. in economics from Tel Aviv University in 1974 and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1981.
Zvi’s research focuses on labor economics, human capital, and fertility decisions. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and is currently coeditor of the European Economic Review. He has received six National Science Foundation grants along with numerous others. He has also served on several advisory committees to Israeli businesses and the Israeli government.
