The Minneapolis Fed is situated along the Mississippi River in the North Loop neighborhood of downtown Minneapolis. Built in 1997 to house approximately 1,500 employees, the address, 90 Hennepin Ave., is a nod to the Bank’s service to the Ninth Federal Reserve District.
The building was designed by the architectural firm of Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum of St. Louis, Mo., and is intended to demonstrate stability, security, and strength. The design complements the historical and natural features of the area and meets the functional needs of the Bank.
