About the Speakers Bureau
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Speakers Bureau offers you access to professionals who can provide insight on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- The roles and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve
- National and regional economic outlooks
- Economic and financial education
- Banking supervision
- Payments and risk
We evaluate requests from business and civic groups, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, and professional and trade associations in the Ninth District. The Minneapolis Fed evaluates speaker requests according to the forum, subject matter, and availability of speakers.
Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) Communication Blackout Periods
Due to Federal Reserve rules, there are certain times during the year when Federal Reserve staff members are not permitted to discuss the economy or financial developments.
Speakers are not available for engagements during the FOMC blackout periods:
- January 24-February 2, 2017
- March 4-16, 2017
- April 22-May 4, 2017
- June 3-15, 2017
- July 15-27, 2017
- September 9-21, 2017
- October 21-November 2, 2017
- December 2-14, 2017
Please note that Federal Reserve policy prohibits our employees from speaking to political organizations, at political gatherings, or at fundraising events. Other restrictions may apply. Minneapolis Fed policy also prohibits employees from accepting gifts, honoraria, or compensation. We kindly ask that you do not purchase or present any gifts that our speakers would be required to decline or return.
