Jim Schmitz taught at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and SUNY–Stony Brook before coming to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis in 1992. He is currently a senior research economist at the Bank and a visiting professor in economics at the University of Minnesota. Jim’s main interests are in the fields of economic growth and industrial organization.
