About Community Development at the Minneapolis Fed

Our Work

The Community Development team at the Minneapolis Fed works to promote healthy communities, human capital, and neighborhood reinvestment in the Ninth Federal Reserve District. We also provide data analysis to enhance understanding of emerging issues that affect low- and moderate-income people.

Our history dates back to 1981, when Congress established a network of Community Affairs offices across the Federal Reserve System to serve as a source of information and guidance about the Community Reinvestment Act, or CRA. While the CRA is still at the heart of what we do, our work has expanded over the years to reflect the diverse community development challenges in the Ninth District.
