Minneapolis Fed President Kashkari to visit Aberdeen
Minneapolis, June 26, 2019— Continuing his outreach through the Ninth Federal Reserve District, Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari will visit Aberdeen, S.D., on Thursday, July 11, and Friday, July 12, to learn more about the region’s economy from area business owners, civic leaders, and residents.
“Aberdeen is central to South Dakota’s agricultural economy, and I’m eager to know how the community is responding to recent economic challenges,” said Kashkari. “As the Fed sets monetary policy for the nation, it’s helpful for me to hear from people across the region and to listen closely to their concerns and their successes.”
Kashkari will begin his visit on Thursday afternoon, July 11, with a discussion about housing in Aberdeen, followed by a roundtable with area business leaders. That afternoon at 4 p.m. CT, Kashkari will hold a free, public town hall on the economy and monetary policy at K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library. Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Gail Ochs will give opening remarks.
