Stephanie Weber
Supervision, Regulation, and Credit

Employee since 2004

Banking supervision

The Supervision, Regulation and Credit (SRC) department ensures the safety and soundness of financial institutions and the equitable treatment of consumers. Bank examiners play a critical role in making sure that financial institutions comply with banking laws and regulations and use sound practices to mitigate risks.

Staff in SRC also evaluate financial institution applications related to mergers or acquisitions. They also provide credit to all Ninth District financial institutions to support financial and economic stability.

Financial services

The Minneapolis Fed provides financial services to depository institutions, including banks, credit unions, and savings and loans, much like the services that banks provide for their customers. These services include collecting checks, electronically transferring funds, and distributing and receiving cash and coin.

The Cash department processes currency and coin for financial institutions across the Ninth District and upholds the integrity and quality of the U. S. currency and coin in circulation to maintain the public’s confidence and trust.

The Treasury Services department, unique to the Minneapolis Fed, provides support for customers who purchase and redeem U.S. Treasury securities and savings bonds.

The Payment, Standards, and Outreach Group works to make it safer and more efficient for consumers and businesses to make and accept payments.

I get to work with financial institutions all over the United States—small rural credit unions to larger institutions. Our work is not for just big banks. It's for small and big and everything in between. Our mission that works for all truly resonates here.

The Center for Indian Country Development leverages research and strong relationships with tribal leaders to unlock the full economic potential of Indian Country.

The Public Affairs department engages with Ninth District communities through the Bank’s website, public events, and open town hall forums covering a variety of financial and monetary policy topics. They also conduct regional outreach and analysis of the Ninth District economy.

The Research department produces world-class economic research and provides high-impact analysis and advice to Bank leaders on monetary policy and other strategic initiatives.

The Minneapolis Fed is also home to the Opportunity & Inclusive Growth Institute, which is dedicated to conducting research to measure, analyze, and make recommendations to improve the economic well-being of all Americans.
