Simon Mongey Senior Research Economist

Simon Mongey is a senior research economist at the Minneapolis Fed and an assistant professor in the University of Chicago's Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics. He is also a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Previously, he was a junior scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and held visiting positions at the University of Bonn and the University of Minnesota.

Simon received a B.A. from The University of Melbourne and a Ph.D. from New York University. His research focuses on macroeconomics, labor economics, and market structure.

Simon's work has been published in the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Dynamics and the Journal of Economic Inequality. In 2019, he was the recipient of a grant from the Washington Center for Equitable Growth.
