Elisa RubboPrincipal Research Economist

Elisa Rubbo is a principal research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and an associate professor of economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Previously, she held postdoctoral positions at Princeton University and Chicago’s Becker Friedman Institute.

Elisa received a B.A. and M.A. in mathematics from the University of Torino, a master’s in economics from the Collegio Carlo Alberto’s Allievi Program, and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. Her research examines how heterogeneity in industries and labor markets shape the response of macroeconomic aggregates to monetary and fiscal policy, as well as the redistributive effects of these policies.

Elisa’s work has been published in Econometrica and the Annual Review of Economics. She is a faculty research fellow for the National Bureau of Economic Research's Economic Fluctuations and Growth and Monetary Economics programs and has served as a consultant for the European Central Bank.
