Tommaso Porzio is a senior research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and an associate professor (untenured) in Columbia Business School’s Economics Division.
Tommaso received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in economics from Bocconi University and a Ph.D. in economics from Yale. His research focuses on macroeconomics and economic development. Recently, he has been studying cross-country income differences in the organization of production and the allocation of talent. Tommaso’s work has been published in the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Review, and Econometrica. He is a faculty research fellow with the National Bureau of Economic Research and serves as an associate editor for the Journal of the European Economic Association.
