
Erik Hembre Senior Economist, Community Development and Engagement

Erik Hembre conducts research on homeownership, housing policy, and related subjects to help the Community Development and Engagement team understand the effects of housing-market dynamics on low- and moderate-income communities. Previously, he was an associate professor of economics at the University of Illinois-Chicago and has also served as a research assistant with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Erik received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his B.A. from St. Olaf College.
