What is Investment Connection?

Investment Connection—a concept pioneered by the Kansas City Fed and replicated by the Minneapolis Fed—is an event series that matches community and economic development organizations with the funding community.

At each Investment Connection event, organizations in need of an investment, grant, or loan pitch their selected Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)-eligible project proposals to an audience of potential funders, including financial institutions, government entities, corporate enterprises, and community foundations. By providing a forum for nonprofits and funders to connect in this way, we aim to promote and foster more community development partnerships while helping financial institutions identify opportunities to meet their obligations under the CRA.

The Minneapolis Fed has held several Investment Connection events so far. For examples of the CRA-eligible proposals that participants have presented, see the project-summary slides from a recent session. And to learn how connections made at Investment Connection events are bearing fruit, see the Planting the Seeds of Partnership video below.

Information on upcoming sessions in the series will be posted on this page as event details are finalized. For additional information about Investment Connection, including the proposal selection and review process, contact Michou Kokodoko at michou.kokodoko@mpls.frb.org or 612-204-5064.
