Nir Jaimovich is a consultant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and a professor of economics at the University of California, San Diego, where he holds the Anonymous Family Chancellor Endowed Chair in Macroeconomics. He previously taught at Duke, the University of Southern California, Stanford, and the University of Zurich. Nir is also a research fellow with the Center for Economic and Policy Research and a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Nir received a B.A. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. His work focuses on macroeconomic questions, and he is particularly interested in business cycles, labor markets, firm dynamics, and the implications of product-level data.
Nir’s work has been published in the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Econometrica, Review of Economics and Statistics, and Journal of Monetary Economics, among other journals. He is a joint managing editor of the Review of Economic Studies.
